Using GarageBand for our film opening

Molly and I have decided that we are going to create our own song to use when Sophie is looking at the picture of her and her father in our film "The Ghost of Church Lane".

To create this song we are going to use Garage Band...

Risk assessment of sets/locations

Filming in a small house/room- Objects could fall on cast/crew during the filming process. To prevent this, we will clear all objects around before filming starts that have a possibility of falling and causing harm!

Filming on a main road- Cars could hit cast or crew members. To prevent this, we will not film when any cars go past and keep away from the road and stand on the pavement when they do.

Filming in a graveyard- Cast or crew members could fall over gravestones or objects on the floor and injure themselves. To prevent this, we will try not to film near any objects on the floor. If we do have to film around any objects, we will warn any cast/crew members if they are approaching any objects that they may fall over.

Changes to our plan

We decided to make another change to our plan. We have now decided that we are going to cut out the scene where Sophie has an argument with her mother and storms out of the house. We decided to cut this scene out as we though it would be more effective to foucs more on where Sophie is in the graveyard, and we first see Damian watching her.
Originally we planned to end the scene with us(as the viewers) seeing Damian look at Sophie, but she does not realise. We have now decided to end the scene with Sophie spotting the figure(Damian) looking at her.

Film Company Logo's

Here are a selection of Film Company Logos that Molly and I looked at to give us inspiration for our own logo and also pick out any particular key features that we did or did not like about those logos, so we had a vague idea of what features we would like to include when it came round to creating our own logo.

We noticed that all logo's from major film production companies seemed to be animated, but after having a discussion we decided that it would be easier to stick to creating a logo that was not animated as this would take up more time than we had planned to spend on the logo.

We both agreed though, that all colours used for the logos, were either blue, white or black which gave them a simple, yet smart look so we decided we would use one or more of these colours for our logo.

Film Classification

We have chosen to classify our film, "The Ghost of Church Lane" as a 15 as we feel it is an appropriate age. We chose to classify it as a 15 as since it is a thriller, some scenes may be unsuitable for anyone aged under 15 and also they may not be able to understand some concepts of the film.

Changes to our original plan

When Molly and I looked at our plan for the film, we realised to fit in all of the shots we wanted, it would take more than two minutes, which was the approximate time our film opening was meant to be. After a discussion, we decided to cut out the two scenes at the beginning which all linked to Sophie's house. We decided to cut these scenes as they didn't link to the opening of our storyline as well as the other shots did and set the atmosphere we wanted.

Logo ideas

Molly and I had many ideas when deciding what we would like to include in our logo. We both agreed that it should include our initials somewhere in the title. Our initials are E&M
We haven't quite decided on what colours we would like our logo to be so we are going to use a variety of colours when creating different logos to see which colours we think suit it the best.

Name ideas for our film opening

Molly and I struggled when deciding on a film title.
We came up with a variety of different names for our film opening, but none of them fitted in well with the theme of the film, which was a thriller.
A few of the names we came up with included:
"The Graveyard"
"Ghost town"
" There's something hiding in the graveyard"
The name we decided to use in the end was " The Ghost of Church Lane" We decided to use this title as  we associate churches with dead bodies/ ghosts/vampires and also the name of the street were our film was filmed the majority of the time was Church Lane so it fitted in with the theme adequately.
