The Ghost of Church Lane- 1st Draft

This is our first draft of our film opening "The Ghost of Church Lane".  So far we have just added in one editing technique, which is the dissolve. We have also added in one song, which is played when the characters are in the churchyard.

The next steps Molly and I need to take in order to complete our film is:
1. Block out all background noise
2. Cut some shots to make sure our film fits the brief of 2 minutes
3. Create a song to be played at the beginning
4. Add effects to the scene

First Script of our film "The Ghost of Church Lane"

This is a copy of our first script for our film "The Ghost of Church Lane" that we wrote in the beginning, we tried to stick to this plan as much as possible, but a few things got changed when it came round to filming:

Scene 1: Sophie is sat in the car with her mum (in silence) on their way to their new house- Wide angle shot

Scene 2: Shot of Sophies new house-Wide angle shot

Scene 3: Sophie sat in her room, looking at a photo of her and her dad- Mid shot of Sophie
High angle shot- Sophie looking at the photo

Scene 4: Sophie walks downstairs- Low angle shot
Has an argument with her mum- Mid shot (No dialogue, just music)
Moves on to Low angle shot of mum and High angle shot of Sophie

Scene 5: (Music still playing)Sophie runs out of the house, music suddenly stops and door slams shut- Mid Shot

Scene 6: Sophie runs out of her house, into the graveyard- Point of view shot of Sophie walking into the graveyard

Scene 7:Shadowed figure(Damian) watching Sophie from behind a gravestone- Point of view shot

Screen goes black and the title "The Ghost of Church Lane" fades onto the screen

Location Shots

The following locations are where we will be setting are film. Filming was done in a local village outside of Marlborough called Ogbourne St Andrew.

This will be our main characters Sophie's new "Country" house that her mother, younger brother and self have just moved into. The house was inherited of Sophies Great Aunt.

This is the local church in Ogbourne St Andrew, The church will be used for the majority of time in the film opening as this is where Sophie first sees Damian, the creepy, mysterious boy hanging around the churchyard. Sophie first comes here when she has left the house after having an argument with her mother.

This is a shot of the same local church in Ogbourne St Andrew, the difference being that this shot was taken at night instead of in the day. Our plan is to film the scene where Sophie sees Damian for the first time whilst it is dark or just about to fall dark, as this will give it a spooky element and feel more like an opening for a thriller film.
